Those prices are as good as I've seen during the recent "distress". You might want to read the reviews on the Slickguns site. I tend to agree but won't put my opinion about that vendor here . I've had good experiences ordering from Palmetto.

You need to check GunBot find 223 5.56 AR-15 ammo in stock. They list all the ammo deals there on a daily basis, that's where I look all the time.

I'm not familiar with GECO ammo, but if its decent, that looks like a pretty good price. Palmetto State Armory is good to do business with. I have done several transactions with them. Fast shipping and good packing.

PSA is good to go but their shipping kills it for me. That and they are still a couple bucks high for 20 rounds.
I'm still only buying when I find it for .40/round. Just got two 100 round bulk packs from Walmart (Federal) for that.

It's already $12 for a box of 20. Add $1.40 per box for shipping (based on the $7 / hundred stated above) and now your up to $13.40 per box which is .67 a round. No thanks.

Read about what people have to say about CTD and see if you really want to buy from them. I bought two rifles and 2000 rds. of ammo from them in the eighteen months before Stoney Point. Today their catalogs go in the trash unopened.

Lake City is some of the best brass i've put through my rifles.
I wouldnt hesitate to scoop it up at a descent price if i had the chance.

I think about shipping cost this way, transportation cost money, whether I transport me to the ammo or the ammo to me. A gallon of gas cost $3.69 where I live at the present time. There is only one store I can buy ammo at besides Wal-Mart in my town. Next closest place is 25 miles one way. Seven dollars shipping is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

I have to agree with Kadonny, I've found some great deals there...

"good deal" in this current market is a relative term. A year and a half ago that would be concidered a ripoff, today its not bad. I can't comment on the retailer, I've never done business with them. My speculation is that in general prices will start to come down. Congress is looking very closely at DHS and the excessive ammo procurements as of late. I'm speculating that now that eyes are on them we may see some relief in the pricing.

If you are able to monitor your e-mail and respond quickly, AIM Surplus has intermittent stocks of PMC 55 grain for $7.79/20 and 62 grain for $8.59/20. You receive an e-mail notice when it arrives, but have to act quickly.
Earlier this month, I was able to buy a 1,000 rounds of the 55 gr. for about $408, including shipping. A year ago, I wouldn't have looked twice at the price, but for the foreseeable future, I think the price it OK.

Like Smith-Barney........ They EARN it.
CTD was a good thing 4 years ago. Today???? Not a good value.
Reckless; don't feel bad. The deals you posted up are not BAD, it's just that in some places folks can find better deals. But not everywhere!!
Sawmill Jack has a great point, and it can not be overlooked. If you take 1hr to drive, get ammo, etc. and burn fuel going 20 miles or more, then a couple bucks shipping is time well spent: A. With the family. B. Working to make money (You make more than the shipping costs, even in that 1 hr. of time you would have spent driving to get it.) C. Drinking and fishing. All 3 beat that lost hour.
