M&P sport and slide fire question
I am strongly considering installing a slidefire stock on my sport, so I was wondering if anyone who has this setup, found any issues with the factory trigger due to the full auto emulation? Or an of the factory components? Do your optics hold zero?
Thanks.

I made the purchase, last year. I have not installed it, yet. I believe it is fairly straightforward.

I am not usually one to be in the "built to mil-spec and TDP" crowd, but if I were going to run a slide fire stock, I would go with a rifle that had a CMV barrel, auto type BCG, and a heavy buffer.
If you want to run full auto, or as close to it as you can without the stamps, run a gun built for it IMO.

I always figured that if someone had enough ammo to waste by attaching a Slide Fire to their AR they might want to sell the ammo instead and buy some fireworks for making noise. The fireworks would serve a more useful purpose.

I tried my friends slidefire he was selling on a bushmaster. I was going to buy the whole set-up from him. I dumped 2 mags with a big smile, and said NOPE I don't want it. Although it was fun for a few magazines, $30 worth of ammo for a few seconds of fun, I'll pass.

Although it really needs a little modification (the 15/22) to work reliably, it's a lot more fun on the 15/22 because it's a helluva lot cheaper to run.
I've had mine on both. I just couldn't enjoy it on one of my ARs because of the dang expense. It lives on my 15/22 now, but 99% of the time, I just keep it locked. It's nice to now it's a flip of the button away when I Want to play with it.

I bought my SlideFire, as it looked like they were going to get banned a year ago. Too close to full auto and Senator Feinstein was calling for a ban on them. I bought it for novelty use. Started using it first on my AR10, but at $.70 a round, fairly expensive. Put it on my 15T and at $.45 a round, still too expensive. It is now on my 15-22 and at $.05 a round, it is fun. A few bucks worth of ammo, versus about $30 for a couple of mags full of the hi-test ammo. I never go overboard and only shoot a few mags at one time. I don't want to overheat the barrel.
To the OP, the stock trigger should be fine. I always work on my rifle's triggers to reduce take-up, over-travel, and all are 4 pound single action triggers. The SlideFire works perfectly on all three. I have timed the rounds per minute and the average is about 600 rpm. Tell me that's not fun.

I came to this conclusion quickly after pricing 223/556 ammo. I think I'll hold off on the slidefire until I get a 15-22. Thanks for the feedback.
