M&P15T new model with Magpul gear
Well I will be owning one of these as soon as the brown trucking company makes it to my FFL in MN.
I hope I don't wear out my welcome with all of the questions but here goes.
All I can google or bing on the stock is that it is a 6 position CAR stock. I assume that CAR stands for carbine (?). Next is- if I should desire to putter more rubber on the stock I see that several companies make extended pads for various stocks but none list the S&aw 15 series. Is there an actual manufacturer for this stock or is it a in-house S&W production?
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

If your rifle comes with Magpul furniture, you should be able to get different pads from Magpul or one of their distributors. Magpul manufactures and supplies these parts to S&W.
Good Luck and good shooting.

I don't know why you'd want to change out the pad. I mean, if it were damaged, I'd understand. However, with the adjustability of the stock, you won't need a different pad.
If you're thinking you'll want a thicker pad for recoil control, you won't. The AR is a super soft shooter. If you want better control, the money is better spent on a muzzle brake. Not for recoil control, but to help with muzzle rise.

Guys, when he says "with magpul gear", I think he means the newer 15T with Magpul sights, not a Magpul stock. It comes with the standard, M4 Carbine stock.
Not sure why you think you need a rubber pad for a poodle shooter, but any designed to fit on the standard M4 stock should work on your 15T.

Now why would anyone want to run around shooting poodles with a .223 rifle?

Cyphertext, love the poodle part. Actually I don't think i'll need it but it might be necessary for my 6yo granddaughter. She is already shooting .22 pistol like a champ at 5 and 10 yes. Next is the m&p and at 10 or so she can start on the M1D I have. We use the .22 for toy poodles, the .223 will be for miniature and the M1 for standard sizes (LOL). I am just in the gathering stage for any and all information on the weapon. Lots of things have changed in the AR world since 1992 when I laid down my Colt M16A1 for the last time.
Thx to all

At 6, I am assuming she will only be shooting from a bench or supported in some way? There are some recoil pads out there, but there are also just the rubber slip on pad for $5 that looks to provide more grip than anything.
