Default Into the box it goes

I'm not above trying things to improve my firearms, and this is no different. Gave the H2 buffer a shot in my Sport. The rifle seemed to shoot fine, but I had a couple failure to feeds on different mags, and had the bolt fail to lock back on an empty mag a couple of times. Easy to swap the standard buffer back into the gun, a few more mags, and no problem.

Lesson learned, into the spare parts box she goes.

Interesting - I'm running an H2, and also a Blue Sprinco spring. Haven't seen any FTF/FTE issues with the OR. The OR has a different gas block than the Sport (and different than any other M&P, I think), not sure if that would make any difference. But I am switching to the Troy Lo Pro block for the Alpha Rail install.

Pretty much all I shoot is XM193. Actually, the last time I shot some cheaper wolf 223, I did have some cycling issues now that I think about it. Were you shooting 223 or 556? I think the whole point of S&W (and most commercial AR's) over-gassing carbines from the factory is to be compatible with more variants of 223 ammo instead of just 193/855 in 556 - so throwing the H2 in with commercial/weaker 223 loads might not work very well?

Yeah, I was shooting the Wolf Gold .223. Since I've got the hand guard off, I'm also thinking about double checking my gas block to insure I mounted it absolutely square to the port. I don't think that's a problem, since my reloads shot just fine.

Speaking of trying new stuff, I ordered the Lantac tonight. The reviews I've seen have it on the top shelf. We'll see.
