Default Ordered a M&P 15 MOE

I have been wanting to pull the trigger on my first AR for a while now. I went to my LGS and worked a deal to trade a couple of guns toward a M&P 15 MOE. It should arrive as early as tomorrow. I am very excited as I thoroughly enjoy my M&P 15/22 MOE.

It came down to the MOE or the Colt LE6940 for me. The Colt was heavier and I couldn't justify the extra $300 or so for the Colt.

I went with the MOE model because I like the Magpul furniture on the 15/22 and I wanted the 1/8 5R barrel. I can hardly wait to run her through her paces. I bought it for 25-50 yards steel target shooting as well as 100 yard shooting from a bench rest. Should be fun!

On a side note, this M&P "hobby" is getting a little crazy. It started innocently enough with a M&P 9 Compact. Then came a Shield in 9mm. Then my wife wanted a M&P 9 Compact of her own. And then, the M&P 15/22 found its way into my gun safe. Then, a M&P 45 Compact joined the family. And finally (yeah...right) the M&P 15 is on its way.

Congrats on the new shooter! I've heard those are very accurate. I'm jealous. Pics or it didn't happen

Good deal for you! I have the MOE and am more than happy with it. You should get two sets of Chris Costa DVD's with it. Watch and enjoy. Have fun!

I picked it up today. I'm so excited!

It did have the DVDs, which I plan to watch. Pics tomorrow. Hopefully I can get to the range next weekend...if not sooner.

I dry fired it and the trigger felt pretty good. Much better than I expected. I like how it's weighted and the magpul setup makes it feel pretty much like my 15/22 except a little heavier. It's like a Big Bro to the 15/22.

Gonna be fun.

The MOE Mid is a really smooth and accurate rifle. You'll have fun.

One tip... Take the buffer spring out and lightly oil it. That spring tends to rattle a lot when after the bolt cycles if you don't have oil on it.
