Not too long ago, I purchased and had a Keymod handguard installed on my M&P15OR. Since then, I've replaced the EOTech 512 with a scope, but I find myself missing the EOTech occasionally when I'm at the range.
While it may not be the best option, as the EOTech is anything but a lightweight, I've been thinking about putting it on the side of the rifle. My initial idea is to use a 45deg mount, so it takes a minimum of movement to switch from the scope to the red dot.
Problem is, I haven't been able to find anyone that makes a 45deg keymod rail section. I probably could mount a standard rail, followed by a 45deg rail, but my concern would be it would have plenty of spots to "wiggle."
Anyone see such a thing?
BTW, my handguard does not have the option for 45deg mounting of the rail sections, or I'd have done this already (and probably un-done it after realizing how much it adds weight-wise.)
Thanks,
Jason
