Used M&P Sport street price
I bought a Sport about 2 years ago and just don't shoot it that much. I seem to have gravitated towards shooting trap instead. Plus, I built up a AR15 A1 and prefer to shoot full stocked 20" ARs. So I'll probably sell my Sport. What do you guys and gals see for prices on used M&P Sports with less than 200 rounds down the tube?

In my area, a new one can be had for $500... so I am guessing around $400 for a used one.

I would agree with cyphertext. Do you have the 1:8 5R or the 1:9? That could make a slight difference if the buyer is savvy. 200 rounds is hardly used, so selling it should not be too hard.

Thanks guys.
Forgot the twist. Sorry. It's a 1:9. I found it's really pretty accurate.

I would just leave it in the safe... doesn't cost you anything to keep it. If there is another run on AR's, you could sell it then. Now is not the time to sell a used AR.

Good point cyphertext, particularly after what happened in Paris today.

I agree. Hold on to it. Sooner or later some other President and/or Senator is going to try to ban them again. Then you'll be able to name your price and make a nice profit.

After what happened in Paris yesterday, the government should subsidize AR purchases to law abiding citizens here in the US.

There is currently a glut on the market of AR's bought post Sandy Hook. People bought them, fired a box of shells through them (if they could find any), and then stuck them in the closet.
Now Momma wants a new bedroom set. The owners figure they will keep their deer rifle that they use once a year and sell the AR. They aren't gun enthusiasts, so the firearm they use the least has to go.
Currently, you can buy new Colts for less than $1000 and the name has more cache to the non-enthusiast. If you really need $400 then sell it. Otherwise, keep it for reasons already stated. You can always buy a new upper and get into some other form of the AR.

Worst time to think about selling an AR. Most stores are flush with used ones and the Sport can be had new for $500. 200 rounds or 2000, it's used. I'd give you $350 for it if I were buying it, and for that price, it's not worth selling unless you really need the money.
As mentioned, I'd keep in case prices rise, which they will at some point.

Interesting you should suggest I may not be an enthusiast. I'll admit that ARs are a little bit of a sideline for me. Although last winter I did build up an AR15A1 from a demilled M16A1using an Israeli contract over-run A1 20" pencil barrel that seems to very accurate on a McKay lower. I just enjoy shooting the A1 more than the Sport, so the Sport sits.
Apologies if I don't meet your definition of an enthusiast, I'm usually in the revolver forums on this site. Don't know if that counts for an enthusiast, our definitions may differ. Compared to some I don't a large collection, just: a L frame, 3 or so N frames, 5 or so K frames, and a J frame. And a few non S&Ws: GP100, 2 Blackhawks, P226, P6, 1911A1. My 686, 1911A1 and 25-5 have been with me since the late 80s and have seen their share of rounds, as have several long guns.
No once a year deer rifles in the safe, just some milsurps such as an 11/1918 Eddystone, Garand, 8/1943 Inland M1 Carbine, and others. And I'm an avid bird hunter, PF member and trap shooter. But I won't bore you with the shotgun list.
Given the market and political scene right now, I'm just going to keep the Sport. I bought it after the panic as the market was bottoming out and paid about $50 more than the going rate for new Sports today. Thanks to all who gave helpful advice and what they see in their areas. I appreciate the helpful opinions.

I apologize if you think I was talking about you, but you appear to be a bit sensitive. I was generalizing as to why your rifle is not worth more and why the used market is glutted. I'm sure most of us know someone like I described.

No problem. I must have misunderstood you.
Yes, there were a lot of first time gun buyers during the panic. Hopefully at least some of them have become regular shooters
