Default M&P15 Sport 2

Hi everyone! New here but no to S&W. I just purchased the M&P15 Sport 2 (Model 10202) last week and took it shooting this past weekend. Loving the rifle so far.

If I wanted to add a reflex or red-dot scope to it, will I need to replace the front sight or will it not interfere with an optic? Thank you in advance for your help.

What Cyphertext said. There will be no need to remove your front sight post.....in fact it is very useful to keep as a backup sight.

I haven't had mine a long time but from what I've seen it's a fine machine. it's accurate and it works every time so far. I won't say I wouldn't like to have a better AR but I think this one is a very good bang for the buck rifle. I have other guns that cost more and generally they are better quality than cheaper guns but that is not always the case. I've seen lots of good reports on this rifle. That's why I bought one.
