Hey everyone, I am a newbie to the A/R world. As an introduction, I am a long time hunter starting to get my feet wet in the tactical realm mostly just from a sporting aspect. It is much more enjoyable for me to go to the range at $0.35 per round instead of $1.00+ per round with my hunting rifles.

I have had a Colt CSR-15 for a few years and have been to the range with it a few times putting a couple hundred rounds through it. Recently I got the itch to get into understanding how these firearms are put together...doing so at a low cost, thus purchasing an M&P15 Sport II. So far I love it.

Being that I mostly shoot from a bench, I want to get rid of the A2 sight and put a free float rail and scope. Having done my YouTube homework, I feel comfortable and have the tools to perform the install. I came across a company called Tactical Transitions, and they have a reasonable priced free float hand guard. See link below:

15" Free Floating Handguard With Sectional Side/Bottom Rails

Has anyone heard of this company? I have searched the web and cannot find a single review on any of their products. I called them but was unable to get much from them regarding their products. For purposes of NOT using it for tactical purposes but moreso to remove the A2 sign and get an understanding of how the gun is put together, does anyone see any red flags in this product? Any advice is welcomed. I am here to learn and hopefully pay it forward with what I learn along the way.

Thank you in advance!

I don't know that particular brand but like Bonkers said, you can get an M-Lock hand guard with a bunch of different available options to add and remove easily as you wish. There is also hand guards out there that use the Key Mod system that will do the same thing.

The price you are looking at for that hand guard is competitive and will do the job but for the same price you could get one of the above mentioned hand guards and have just as many options, if not more and more easily add and remove accessories and have more flexibility on where they are located.

Thank you both for the response. Very helpful. Any thoughts on the shaving the A2 sight versus replacing with a low profile has block? Will the above mentioned even fit over a shaved sight? It seems that you can pick up a has block and tube for roughly $20-$30. Do you get what you pay for what that?
