SPORT II .223 Wylde Barrel?

No, the Sport only comes in 5.56 NATO.

As far as accuracy, if you are shooting .223 match loads or some of the high dollar hunting rounds, you may see some improvement in accuracy in Wylde over 5.56 NATO chamberings. But if you are shooting the bulk 5.56 ammo like M855 or XM193, you probably won't see much difference.

I've also read that the Wylde chamber can be less reliable with 5.56 ammo due to the tighter tolerances... more fail to eject malfunctions are possible.

I will be interested in seeing the responses to this post. I'm very seriously considering ordering a complete .223 Wylde upper for my Sport. One of the fellows I shoot with has a .223 Wylde and swears by its accuracy, compare to his other AR platform rifles.

I've put together two AR-15s with .223 Wylde barrels. No problem at all, with 5.56 ammo. I too, will swear by their accuracy. As too replacing an existing barrel, I probably wouldn't go to the effort. But putting together a rifle from the ground up, I would.

The Wylde chamber does have tighter tolarances than stock 5.56. Means better accuracy, but won't function as well, if you're wading through rivers, and throwing the gun into sand bars or mud, at the edge of the river. I'm sure they'd do less well, in those, shovel sand into the open "upper" torture videos.....

Interesting thoughts. I'd love to see if it really is that much of an improvement shooting target/match ammo.
