I would like to put magpul furniture on my sport 2. I find myself deciding between od green and fde. I love od green, but most of the pics I see with od green look a little off. Does anybody have the magpul od green furniture on their sport? Does it look different or better in person than it does in pics? I welcome any opinions.

Look a "little off" compared to what? OD is going to look a little different between manufacturers... Magpul OD green is typically a little darker from what I have seen.

M&P Sport 2 furniture colors.

I have ODG on my sport and the color is consistent between the stock, grip and fore end. It looks great in person.

This is a pic of the furniture on another rifle before it was moved to my sport.

Why?

The rifle has perfectly serviceable furniture on it already.

* Mortgage paid off?
* Retirement savings up to date?
* Cars paid off?
* Credit cards all paid off?
* Tires on the cars and trucks in good condition?
* Any cars due for an oil change or state inspection?

Before replacing perfectly good parts on a perfectly good gun you may want to consider whether that money could serve you better some other way.

Of course, if this is just "mad money" then I have found I like the contrast between the gray/black of the AR and the "Flat Dark Earth" color furniture. If I were to change out the furniture on my Sport II, I would get an M-LOK handguard, grip and an ACS stock.

As they say... in the eye of the beholder... but if you're not sure about the green it won't look any better on your rifle. IMO, green is a color you REALLY need to want.

FDE has a good contrast with black. I have a Magpul FDE sling.

This is pretty close to the color outside.

I probably most prefer the basic black, but only by a small margin, 'cause I really dig both the OD and FDE looks, as well.
I actually had a Sport 1 with the FDE a while back (Armslisted it away for something or other,LOL!).
If I had to pick one, I'd say I like the FDE a tiny bit better than OD, but OD sure wouldn't be a deal breaker if I stumbled into a deal on a rifle with it!

I couldn't decide between Black and FDE, So I bought another M&P 15 so I could have both.

I was leaning toward fde, but bozz10mm, your pic makes me want both. Can't have another ar, so I might have to let my wife decide since she got it for me anyway.
Bozz10mm... how do you like the bushnell red dot? And do you absolute cowitness or 1/3 with it?

@Tommytom I like the Bushnell TRS-25. I have one on the FDE AR and one on a Ruger 10/22. My other AR (the OD one) has a Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot, which I like even better. Smaller dot (2 MOA) and longer battery life. (50k hours).

Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot with Push Buttons and up to 50K-Hour Battery Life MD-ADS

I moved the red dots forward and added a Magpul MBUS rear sight on both. I am using an absolute cowitness on both ARs. I find that using the sights co witnessed with the red dot practically eliminates the distortion of the red dot caused by my astigmatism.

I finally decided and went with the Magpul OD Green. I’m very pleased on how it turned out. Thanks for the opinions and responses.
