M&P 15/Magpul mid-length

I personally don't have experience with that exact model, but all M&Ps are great guns for the money. Couple that with the midlength gas and the Magpul furniture and you will have an awesome shooting rifle with quality parts. That model might even have the 1:8 5R barrel which is a great barrel.

So what specifically are your questions about it?

I was curious what the barrel profile is, but I'm guessing the same as other M&P's?

I'm looking at one for $833 shipped. Does that seem to be in the ballpark for this particular model?

That's a good question. S&W website advertises the 15T with a lightweight contoured barrel. The one you're interested does not state that but the pics on S&W's website appear to show it to be the lightweight contoured barrel. See how the barrel flares out at the end. S&W product descriptions have a history of being less than complete.

I have the original M&P15 MOE MID and I have 0 complaints with it. Never had any issues what so ever. The barrel is not the same as the sport or the "gov profile"...
Here is a picture of the profile (NOT MY PICTURE):

I think your MOE Mid has the 1:5 barrel, great rifle for the money.

I have found that thinner barrels get hot faster, with a lot of shooting and tend to shoot to the right, by a few inches, at 100 yards, when they do. My M&P Sport, with the heavier barrel, doesn't have this problem.

I have the mid length MOE version and so far so good. Barrel is thiner profile but is better steel if I'm not mistaken, than say the sport. Ok, now there is an MOE spec series that has a 4140 barrel, I have the original MOE with 4150 barrel.

That seems very reasonable. At local gun show yesterday they had them for $799 before tax. Get it, you won't regret.

Took the plunge and put one on layaway (the all-black version). turned out to be $828 shipped.

I can get a new, old style one with the supposed better barrel for $900 + tax locally.
A little high I think, but what do y'all think?

I think with what's out there now I wouldn't.
I got a good deal on a Sport 2, and I am seeing where you can get a Colt Trooper shipped for $700.......

I have the older one. It's been perfect.

I did put the SL handguard on it for the slim profile and M-lok. The older Mid Moe uses the original MOE accessory mounts that require removal of the handguard to install or reposition rail sections or whatever.
