Hi - AR Owner
I am really new to this, so please bear with me. I shot my first handgun, (S&W 19), back in 1985. So S&W has always had a special place in my heart. I currently own a M&P-AR15, and a Charter Arms Undercover, along with many shotguns and hunting rifles. I have a S&W Model 69 currently on layaway, and I am super excited about my first .44 wheel-gun. It will be on my side during trout fishing outings in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live in the western hills of the Cumberland Mountain range in Tennessee. When I'm not working, I want to be outside, in the forest.

Welcome from the other side of TN. Your post is fine here assuming you want to discuss your AR-15 or related items. I did not know about the new members thread either and I guess I need to post there also. If you go to the "Forum" link at the top left of this page, then go to the bottom of that page, there is forum for "new member introductions"

I carry a .44 magnum for potential black bear problems here on the other side of the mountains from you. I don't really expect a problem but I have the solution if one does come up.
My Sport has really amazed me in both the accuracy and quality departments. I wasn't sure I'd get either with an entry level AR but I had read plenty of positive reviews so I wasn't worried. Still I wasn't expecting the accuracy I got. Maybe I got lucky and got the good one but it sure is good for whatever reason.
I live next to a national forest too. I couldn't count the hours I've spent out there. I used to ride my ATV out as far as I could go then walk for a mile or so. You get to see things most people only see on TV or in some cases not even there.

Welcome from another newbie. A .44 on your side while fishing? Sheesh, I feel sorry for any trout you even get close to.
