Default Best place to get H2 Buffer

I have a suppressed 300BO AR (Not an M&P or even S&W but this is the only AR forum I'm a member of [I also own a Sport II] and all y'all are pretty smart so I thought I'd start here). I was advised by someone I trust AND the manufacturer to upgrade to an H2 buffer due to the suppressor. I also found that if I buy an H3 I can swap the tungsten weights around to make both an H1 and an H2

Q: Please recommend a decent H3 buffer at a decent price. I don't want to spend a lot but don't want to get junk either.

I've been finding several at a wide variability of prices and have learned that you get what you pay for.

Thanks!

Is there a particular result you are looking to achieve?

There are a lot of variables that go into tuning an AR pattern rifle, especially with a suppressor. A heavier buffer may, or may not give you your desired results, depending on the other a lot of other factors. Such as barrel length, gas system length, BCG type/weight, suppressor design, charging handle design, gas block style, and ammo type.

Brownell's currently has Luth AR H3 Buffers on sale, and Aero Precision ones available for about the same price. Either of those are good quality.

I buy most of my AR stuff from Bravo Company USA, Brownell’s, or (sometimes) Midway USA in that order. I replaced the buffer in my S&W M&P15 with an H2 buffer and am pleased with the result. I don’t modify buffers or any other parts though, just buy the part(s) you want and call it good.

My rule when changing any parts of a firearm is to change one part at a time and go to the Range to verify the results. Of course AR’s are so modular that you could install the parts at the Range one at a time until you achieve the desired result. Just my $0.02 though...

I'm not looking for any particular result. Suppressors normally increase the gas going to the bolt...manufacturer agreed that bumping it up from a standard buffer to an H2 wold be the best thing to keep it running smooth.

Thanks for the tips

If your mind is set on getting an adjustable buffer so you can mess around with trying different weight combination to see what you think works best for your particular set-up, I would go with an Odin Works adjustable buffer. They come with 2 Aluminum, 3 Stainless Steel, and 1 Tungsten weights. You can adjust from 3.7oz to 5.8oz. Your call.

I've used Midway a couple of times with no problems and good results.

I considered that, but have ordered an H3 from MidwayUSA.

edit: By buying an H3 I can create any configuration I want by swapping the 3x tungsten weights around (but somewhat cheaper than the Odin Works adjustable buffer).

Thanks
