Default M&P 15 Magpul with red controls
Has anyone ever seen one like this? A customer brought it to me as a consignment and I've never seen one like this. He purchased it new with the red controls from another local dealer. I have no reason to not believe him when he says that its a factory rifle but because I haven't seen another, I don't know quite what to make of it. Pics are in the link.

Never seen one quite like that, and with 'Magpul' roll mark on the right side of the mag well. Must have been some kind of special build maybe?

The Magpul edition wasn't anything spectacular in my opinion. It was just a slightly different lower and magpul furniture. Some people like them and some don't. I have sold a few at a premium because some people find them collectable. These red controls just leave me scratching my head because I can't find any info on them.

Talked with the owner right after I sold it. It was indeed a factory rifle that was purchased at a local shop when S&W was there doing a range day. He wasn't sure why but we both suspect that it was done to give anyone who purchased rifles from the S&W rep something different. There were several of these rifles sold he has also never seen any others like it.

No, and they didn't come from the factory with that stock, grip or handguard.
