Default Sigma Plastic thingy ques

Just picked up a sigma in a trade. On the bottom back of the grip just behind the magazine baseplate there is a little plastic thingy. It moves but wont come out. whats it for?

Heh, I just noticed that the other day too. Im guessing its there to take up space in the handle so the magazine will fit.

Exactly, the frame plug levels the magazine floorplate to give a flat bottom to your Sigma grip. It also keeps **** from going into your pistol as the back is hollow. It took me about 6 months to replace a lost one from S&W.

would it be a bad idea to just drop a little crazy glue on it .. Seems wierd that it moves about. Is it for future replacement?

You could glue it, I guess. My 40VE is the 1st Sigma I ever heard loosing this part. Out shooting one day, came home and no frame plug. The part has, like an iceberg, a longer, upper part that clicks into place when you push it all the way in. Must have been a freak thing losing it. Sure was a pain in the butt getting another one from S&W.

Glocks are built that way too IIRC. They have numerous after-market plugs. I think Glocks ship with just an open hole.

Glock owners pay extra for this feature. It's one of the most popular accessories to fill that hole in the backstrap behind the magwell. S&W sends it along free with purchase of the gun.
