Default Sigma question

I was reading the new FAQ, and love it. I am now thinking of getting one for my wife.

However, I know that the Glock can have a limp wrist problem, and that M&P seams not to.

Does the sigma have an issue with limp wristing?

Not that I am aware of but I will test it myself at the range next Friday.

I have had several sigma's over the past few years. SW9VE & SW40VE. My limp rist daughters shot them all the time. Not a single FTF/FTE.

I can tell you that my experince has been negitive when adjusting or changing my grip. I'm new to shoting and once I firmed up I seem to have resolved my failure to load issues which I attribute (now) to limp wristing.

Hope this helps.

SW40VE - about 1000 rounds down. No stovepipes, FTF-FTE.

No limp wrist issues here with my Sigma 9mm. I even make it a point to shoot it close in also with bad stance and hand placement. And its always fired, ejected and re-chambered.

Never buy a gun for your wife. Let her shoot a few and she can decide for herself.

Good point! My wife hates firearms. They scare her. I have tried and tried to get her to the range. But no go. I myself don't understand why a women that will go 100 mph with me on the back of a bike on the rear wheel and cornering at those speeds wont fire a pistol.

But I have noticed she has set down to visit when I'm reloading or cleaning a weapon. I've even caught her pearing and looking at the CZ-52 when on the nightstand. And asking questions to why the other pistol is locked up. It's how she does things. I hope one day she will shoot. I worry about her when I'm not around. And I know if she ever does shoot. She will be better than I hands down! It's just letting her get there.

Lead and she will follow is how I look at it. Firearms are new to her. Even in the years we have been together firearms have not been a topic in our relationship. I got out of shooting just prior to meeting her. And other than a beat up .44 mag Super Black Hawk I kept around and almost never shot. Firearms were not part of my ID. Now withing a few months other pistols and long guns have showed up with all the tools needed to maintain them with a reloading bench. Must be a hell of a shock to her!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

You have no idea how much I want my wife to be-able to shoot a 7 yard group.......

I have the same problem. My wife understands the importance of guns and the need for them. But she still dislikes them. My daughter on the other hand loves to shoot and we have a lot of fun.

Hopefully your wife and mine will give it a try. Start slow and small. Make it fun for her and maybe she'll get hooked.

I've got the same issues with the wife. She isn't real fond of guns but is now showing interest. It's primarily because she's had limited exposure to them. She's interested in my 40VE but I'm gonna start her with something a little smaller. I'm buying a Mustang 380 anyway and will either start her with that or borrow one of my dad's .22's for a little while. A couple trips to the range with me and I'll let her gain interest at her pace, no reason to push her.

Personnaly I would start with a 22lr. Lot less expensive. Not much recoil. Lot less intimidating.

I've had a stock SW9VE for about a year and I've never had an issue. My wife shoots its often. I think it's a great gun, especially for new shooters.

Yah I think the only issues out of be box o e may have with the ve is fte's (which I've had to deal with) and low shootig perhaps due to sights. Otherwise it is a great gun to shoot.

Atlanta_sw40, we had the low shooting problem when we got my wife's, took it to LSG, Mfg|Gun Parts|Warranty|Gunsmithing and he found the barrel was out of round and knew where it was shooting before we even told him the problem. The trigger was made extremely better too and SW took care of it under warranty.....
