Default Rough Time at the range. TWO 9ve's

Hey.im here watching the game and all i can think about is my trip to the range today. i have a 9ve and so does my wife. we went to the range today to test out some new SD ammo that i ordered a couple of weeks Winchester ranger t's sxt .

Both guns have not been cleaned since last range trip 1 month ago where we each shot about 200 rounds of federal from WM.
Both guns have about 700 rounds thru each. Mine has had about 4-5 ftf with tulammo within the first few hundred rounds. wifes gun 2 on tula ammo in the past.

Guns were not cleaned for experimental purposes. I guess it was a dumb idea testing new ammo. now i dont know who is the culprit.

My gun first 100 rds of ranger t 4 ftf. with tiny indent on primers. 100 rds of fed from WM 1 ftf. went back to ranger t's and 2 mags and had 1 more ftf

Wifes gun first 100 rds of ranger t 1 ftf. 100 rds of fed from WM 1 ftf. went back to ranger t's and 2 mags and had no more ftf

DIRTY GUNS OR BAD AMMO????? THANKS FOR ADVICE

Easy way to tell, get you 100 rounds of good ammo and shoot it. IF you havent cleaned the gun yet.
One of Two things will happen.
1. You will have the same problems meaning gun cant function properly do to it being dirty.
2. You shoot and all 100 rounds go bang! meaning you got some really bad ammo.

I always clean my guns after shooting, clean them withing 30 minutes or less after the last shot was fired. i like to clean the gun when its still warm. if i only shoot 50, 25 , 10 how ever many rounds it ALWAYS gets cleaned well.

You can keep the experiment going, but look at the feed ramp. If it has a nice coat of black stuff on it, it's not gonna feed 100% of the time with any ammo. My neighbor found that out. It took me almost an hour to get his 9ve clean and shooting properly. I have read posts, however, where people never clean their Sigma and don't have a problem. Personally, I don't like having a bad day at the range and do what I can to keep that from happening.

By FTF, do you mean Failure to FEED, or Failure to FIRE?

If you mean Failure to FIRE ("tiny indent on primers"), here's a suggestion for something to check on your guns:
The striker channel needs to be CLEAN and DRY. If any oil, grease, or greasy residue from the Tula ammo is in the striker channel, it is possible detail stripping and cleaning the slide could alleviate the issue.
It strips like a Glock: slide the striker plastic sleeve forward with a small punch and the backplate of the slide can be slipped downward. Caution: the extractor spring can go flying to parts unknown. Consider disassembling inside a clear plastic bag.

Some guns were made to suffer a lot of indignities on the range, but it is always better to keep the gun clean.

Cleanliness is next to goodliness.
