SW40VE Factory laser?
I know of a guy that wants to sell his SW40VE and says it came with a factory laser. I can't seem to find a thread here to verify what brand it may be. I e-mailed him and asked what brand it was along with some other unrealated questions and didn't get an answer to my laser question.
Did these things get sold in Crimson Trace packages like Ruger SP101's do, or another brand as far as that goes? I have pictures of it and to tell you the truth, I don't see anything like a laser on the picture.

No. Haven't seen a factory laser on a sigma. They make a few for it. There in the 200 dollar range.

There are several that fit it, some are more streamlined than others. Crimson Trace makes one that is slick, runs about $170, all you do is grab the thing and it's on. There are others that require you to turn them on, some are rather clunky looking, others fit rather well. Some are "adapted"... standard size lasers mounted onto adapters for the proprietary Sigma rail size.

I was at Gander Mountain today and saw a Sigma advertised with a laser for about $450. I figure the laser was about a $150 premium. It was on the rail and activated by a single button on the left hand side.
Definatly not a Crimson trace and no identifiable markings. I asked the clerk who made the laser and he said it was by LaserLyte. I saw nothing even close on the LaserLyte site, so I,m really not sure what it is.
I may know more tomorrow because I made an offer on the SW40VE and he accepted it.

It was indeed shipped with a LaserLyte sight and rail adapter as it has stickers on the box to prove it. I am not impressed with the on off button as it seems to have a mind of it's own.
Not something I would trust for self defense, but maybe a dry fire tool. I will see how it holds up to firing and sight alignment.

Could be. I can't tell who the FFL was from the shipping label on the box.

I bought a 40VE wih LaserLyte from gander mountain over a year ago, and have no problems with the laserLyte at all. It should be the LaserLyte Sub Compact V-2 mini rail system (FSR-00V2-140) with rail mount adapter S&W Sigma (ADP-SIGM-140). I paid $399

I don't have all of the part numbers handy, but it seems there was a package deal offered.....at least unofficially. I will verify what I have with what you have supplied me. I wish the on/off button worked better, because the mount system seems solid as a rock!

My son bought a 40VE with a factory laser a year or so ago. I believe it was an option; either $50 back, 2 extra mags, or a laser.

I mounted the laser but did not use the extra rail on the bottom of it. That looks like too much **** hanging from the original rail and I have no intention of using a tactical flashlight dangling under there too.
The On/Off button is junk on mine. Has a mind of it's own. Haven't contacted LaserLyte about it yet.

I would definitly either contact gander or laser and get it replaced. My switch works like a charm...I think someone will step to the plate to make you a happy customer.
I don't use the extra tactical light hardware either.
