Hello everyone,

A while back I got a Sigma 9mm SW9VE. I have shot it several times and as always I cleaned it once I was done. I recently went to my favorite gun range and put several round through it. I noticed after awhile it began to jam. It would either not completely eject the shell or wouldn't load the next round right. I took it home and cleaned it again. A few days later I returned to the range, and again after a few rounds it began to jam. Now I must let you know I tried 3 different types of ammo. First I was using Remington target shot, then Winchester target shot, and then Atlanta Arms Ammo. All of them gave the same results.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so is there a way to fix it.

Thanks

Sounds like a limp wristing issue. Have you tried bench shooting it or changing your grip. Let someone else give it a whirl and see if the problem duplicates itself. If not then you know it is your grip and it gives you something to work on.

I had a similar problem with my Sigma that developed a few months after purchase. Tried different mags, different ammo, took the slide apart and, of course, limp-wrist avoidance measures. Finally I sent it to S&W and I have not had even one instance since. I suggest you call them and have them send you a shipping label.

First, welcome to the forum!

Assuming all the obvious stuff has been addressed, I fully agree with LedFowl.

There have been reports over the years of sigmas needing new extractors. In every case that I have read about, one trip to Smith takes care of it without problem upon return.

Round trip is usually less than 2 weeks.

It is also possible to induce jamming by too much lube, or lube in the wrong places in a Sigma.
Other than that, send it in.

I've had the same problem with my SW9VE. It's jammed on me a few times. Limp Wristing seem to be the problem. I've always shot the Federal 115 Grain through my Sigma. My last several trips to the range has been trouble free. I to clean my gun after every trip to the range. I have broken down the magazines and cleaned them once since I've had it. Also, I wipe the down the feed ramp with solvent after each trip to the range.
