Default New here question about magazine

Hi all,

I am new here so please excuse my ignorance. I ove a Sigma 9mm and one of my magazines has a small crack in it. I do not know if this is covered by the S&W warranty. Is this magazine even safe to use anymore?

Thanks In advance

1. Lifetime Service Policy

We will repair any defect in material or workmanship without charge to the original purchaser for as long as you own the handgun.

you could try but id say your out of luck unless it was a factory defect

Here is a picture of the crack. it is both front and rear of the magazine. I never noticed it before. For all I know it could be a factory deal.

That is not a crack, it is a seam. My 10-round magazines both have them. I will have to look again to see if the high-cap magazines have them also.

Not to worry!

My 16 round does not have this. This is what made me question it.

I just checked the magazines on my SW9VE; call S/W first thing tomorrow. Never saw broken mags like that before.

Thanks for the info. I will call them in the morning. I just got back from the range. No issues with the magazine but could not hit the broad side of a barn from 5 feet today. Tried a new range and just wasn't feeling it.

strange it would be pretty hard to break a mag like that seeing as it is boxed maybe a poly mag but not metal. Could be a seam I dont know their manufacturing process for mags so it is a possibility. Worth a shot to send it in these mags run a little on the high side.

note.....none of my hi-cap 9mm mags have any seams

its the seam so you cant alter the mag without it snaping in half.only on the 10rnders.if you try and grind the stops in the mag it makes it weak.and no my 14 rnd for my 40ve doesnt have seams

Just got off the phone with them. They said it is a factory feature. To add to this I really appreciate the help. It means alot being this is my first handgun. I ccould not say no at the price I paid for it either.
