Meprolight Night Sight Install pics
Hey everyone. I just got done installing my new night sights on my SW40VE and thought some of you might be interested in seeing some pics. They were really easy to install. I used a pair of pliers to rip off the cheap plastic front sight and a hammer and wooden dowel to tap out the rear sight. Applied a little blue loc-tite to the threads of the screw that attatches the front sight to the slide and tightened w/ a 3/16" nut driver. I then applied a thin layer of loc-tite to the slide where the rear sight slides in. The rear sight slid right in to the slide w/ a little resistance which slightly worried me but after the loc-tite had a minute to set it didn't move so I'll have to see how well it holds up in the long run. I obviously haven't shot it yet but will report back as soon as I've had a chance.

Very nice. I put a set on my old SW9VE and it was probably one of the easiest sight installations I had ever done. If you are using your Sigma for defense, it's a smart upgrade too. Good post Sir, congrats on the new sights.

Thank you. I had been wanting some for a while and came across the Meprolights on Optics Planet for like $40 cheaper than anywhere else and they had good reviews too. So far I am happy with them. When I lived in Utah I carried my sigma daily but now I live in Illinois so that is not an option so my sigma lives in my night stand.

Just ordered the same night sights. Any tips as far as install? Anything I should note? Did you find it necessary to mark the location of the factory sights prior to removal? They look great, nice work! I'm looking forward to installing them tomorrow.
