What brand laser do you recommend for a s&w sigma .40??????
I don't want to spend outrageous amounts of money for a laser but then again what you pay for is what you get....

I like CT but I don't have a laser on my Sigma.

Something to consider. Red doesn't work in bright light, (but you still have your sights which even my old eys can see if its too bright to see the red dot) Red works at 20 below (ask me how I know that).

Green works in any light conditions, but don't work below 40 degrees very well. You still have you sights it its light enough to see them, but going out on a cold night, you don't have any sights.

Something to think about.

As to brand, I have Crimson Trace, but haven't used any others do I can't comment.

i just bought a laser/flashlight combo off of ebay for my sigma. i also got a laserlyte rail adapter since the sigma mount is not a picatinny rail. i paid a total of 84 dollars for the two items. i'm not sure of forum rules on posting the ebay sellers so if you want links to where i purchased them, send me a pm and i'll get that info to you...

if you like, i can get a pic also...

Try one out before you buy.
I did not like the red dot laser on my Kahr MK40.

Not to sound to harsh (sorry if I do), so please take my advice with a grain of salt...

For the price of a quality LASER, you could buy enough ammo to get good enough with the weapon to not need or depend on one.
Practice, learn, and never depend on a battery powered item to replace marksmanship skills.

The wife has the little SIG rail mounted laser on her 2022. haven't put a huge amount of rounds with it but so far it works great. Has an on/off switch that's easily activated by right or left finger.

It's great to show her how much she's waving the muzzle around. I swear she's worse than Sergio Garcia standing over a fairway wood. I tell her she's really dangerous if we can get the BG to stand still long enough...

I believe it retails around $139.

i used to think like that, but i realized that it is not about replacing the skills. i look at it this way, bad guy in y house at 3 am while i am working a night shift. the wife is at home with our 2 daughters, pretty groggy from being woken by the bg breaking in. a laser pointed center mass is better then blurry, groggy eyes trying to acquire a good sight picture.

I don't have one but I like it, and no rail adapter needed.

I'm waiting til I can afford- and I mean it ain't no big rush- the rear-sight laser. Replaces your rear sight, but you don't have to change your holster after it's installed. I have too much invested in the holsters to toss em for a laser.

i'll be honest, one of these, http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-w...rs-lights.html , is what i planned on buying and will probably still end up with one. i went cheaper for now(thanks to the wife being included in the decision). the laser i posted earlier will mount to any gun with a pic. rail...and since i am planning on an m&p15-22, i bought it. got a laser for the sigma for now that can go on the future gun.

here are the pics, not sure why the one of the gun got blurry when i uploaded it photobucket. the ones of the light and laser are with the same settings on my camera. the flashlight is really bright, but would disappear on the camera if i angled just a little...i really should leran how to use this camera...lol

Armalaser Stingray looks nice but from the reviews it's hit and miss. Some have great luck with it while others have had it where it doesn't hold it's aim after shooting.

STINGRAY for S&W SIGMA - SR3 for S&W SIGMA by ArmaLaser Inc.

Crimson Trace is nice as it's grip activated but I have no idea how comfortable it is.

http://www.crimsontrace.com/products...olvers/01-3130

There was another one mentioned somewhere but it was a bit bulky compared to these two. The nice thing about it was you turned it on and then it would activate upon putting your finger into the triggerguard. I'm sure you can find it using google or what-not but like I said, the two above seem to be good.

I think a laser for a Home Defense Gun is a wonderful thing. I think that's why I like Crimson Trace's idea about the best as it's a no-brainer to use. If you're holding/squeezing that gun, the laser is going to be on. Nothing to training for muscle memory and such as you would have to do with the others. In a BAD situation such as a home invasion, you're going to be nervous enough without trying to remember how to turn your laser on.

I paid $132 at my favorite local gun shop. I am very pleased with the TLR-4.

The only two I can recommend are Crimson Traces and Viridian. I'm sure there are other good ones, just be sure they are maximum outputs.

My understanding is laser-lytes are the ones that are creating issues on the Body Guards, but I may be wrong on that.

I have a Sigma 40VE with a Crimson Trace laser on the trigger guard. I like the quality of the CT and the design fits both the gun and my hand very well. It also gives a more streamlined look to the gun - check their website for pictures and pricing.

Although the laser site helps finding the target quickly the real benefit, for me, is dry firing practice. Placing that dot on a target downrange and pressing the trigger without the dot moving is a great way to learn and maintain trigger control. Do this about 20 or 50 times and then load in a clip and watch your groupings improve overnight! Really, overnight I greatly improved my trigger control with the feedback from the laser dot. For that reason alone I have one on all my handguns.

Thanks for the post SpeedyQuad. Here is a picture of the TDR911 laser.

There are lots of different laser systems out there that vary in price and mounting location. Everyone has a different opinion as to what is best. I say check them all out and make an educated decesion.
The TDR 911 laser attaches directly to the rail.

Is the TLR-3 the one with both a light and a laser? and that costs about $180?
