Default 40F Trigger Pin

The trigger pin on my 40F is starting to wiggle out when I use it. I thought it was just from shooting, but I noticed it today after just cleaning and racking the slide a few times.
Is this something a tiny drop of Locktite can solve, or should I take this to a gunsmith, or even have S&W look at it?
I've only had this happen on one other gun, a Mauser Hsc, and the guy at the gun shop used Locktite with no ill effects.

If you do use loctite, use the blue only. Not the red, it will fuse the pin to the polymer frame. Bad past experience!

You know, I would suspect if the pin did not have or need Locktite from the factory, there should be no reason for it now, so perhaps the pin or the trigger has gone out of tolerance.

I would call S&W first and see what they have to say. They may tell you that replacing the pin, and possibly other trigger components, is the best way to go and that they will be happy to do it for you free of charge.

Of course, they may also tell you that this model is no longer in production and they will keep it and send you an new SW40VE instead.

Ask a lot of questions while you have them on the phone, since they are paid to answer them.

does your trigger pin have a recess in it for the slide lock? the VE's do, keeps it from sliding out unless its split in two. manage to break one in half myself shooting some stout ammo.
