Default My new gift!

My son is in the Air Force and just got orders to go to Afghanistan later this year so he wanted me to have his SW9VE before he left. It is almost brand-new as he has only fired about 200 rounds through it since buying it a few months ago. He knew I was going to get one and figured he could just buy another one when he returns from overseas. He is going to be assigned to work with the Afghan police so I told him that he should look for an Allied Forces version while he is there.

I have only dry-fired this so far as I have only had it one day but I don't mind this trigger at all so far. I am an old revolver guy (I was a police officer in the 1970's and revolvers were the service weapon back then) and this trigger seems better than most of the revolvers I have had with the exception of a Colt Python that I foolishly sold about 15 years ago. My buddy retired from the police department and when he handled this Sigma he was very impressed with it. He carries a Smith snubby revolver with him at all times and the Sigma trigger seems much better than his revolver to me. I think he is seriously thinking of getting a Sigma now, too.

The more you shoot it, the more you will enjoy it. A wonderful gesture on your son's part btw.

Best wishes to him on a safe deployment.

Yes it was very nice of him. I like this pistol a lot so far.

Thank you for the wishes for his safe return. He is my only son and now I know what my parents must have felt like when I went to Vietnam.

Ditto, God be with him in his deployment. S&W makes a pretty great gift, don't they.
