Default SD40 vs Sd40VE

Ok, so i know there are a couple of thread out there compairing the two, at least for the SD9's. Is the only difference between the guns?

1) the finish
2) VE has smoother trigger
3) original has a night sight

The reason I'm asking again is because of the VE being almost $100 less then the origninal. is it a lesser gun, or did S&W just grace us with an excelent value upgraded gun? I was going to buy a SD40VE, but i saw an ad for someone selling a sd40 still new in the box that they only shot a few times. Should i get the 40VE, or buy the 40 from that add?

Thanks guys!

Same tirgger , the VE has "value sights", and slide finish. I think that is pretty much it. I have the original SD in 9mm, great gun even better with the APEX spring kit in it. If there is anything else someone will fill in the blanks. Not sure I would call it new with just a few rounds through it, but thats just me.

Enjoy which ever one you get.

They are the exact same gun minus sights and finish, the SDVEs will cost less because of the cheap sights and the cheaper finish. I bought the SD40 mainly because I like the finish. Plan on buying the SD9VE if I ever sell my 9VE.
