I have a SW9F I let my daughter use for her BF to to practice for his concealed carry qualification. The front sight came off on the first round. They were able to retrieve it after a range officer called a cease fire at the end of there shooting. It was a few feet in front of his stand in the dirt. I've shot this pistol many times and I qualified with it as did my wife. I keep it in the original case so I don't think it's been struck by anything. It appears it's glued in an oval cut out in the top of the slide.
I waiting for a return authorization from S&W. I have heard a lot of bad reviews on these pistols but other than this I've had no issues. He'll have to qualify with her M&P 9c or my Browning HP, I guess. I have a .40 Sigma and Kahr PM40, but he seems to shoot much better with a 9mm. Anybody know typical TA time with S&W?

Personally I would upgrade to a better sight.

Tru glow, some type of fiber optic or night sight.

Turn around time will probably 2 to 4 weeks (guessing).

I got the shipping label today and shipped it off. We'll see how long it takes. I've heard good things about SW CS. I really have no issue with the factory sights. I do have night sights on my CCW

S&W CS is pretty good from what I hear, never had to return anything though.

I am impressed with the service and turn around. The pistol arrived back from S&W the morning of April 5. I was about to leave for Dallas to attend a CHL group get together at Elm Fork range when the door bell rang. Shot it at 15 yards and it was dead on and flawless. Also got a chance to shoot a K-22 a friend gave me a while back and my wife had some impressive groups with it. While we were shooting I didn't hear a message on my cell that our daughter's fiance shot 245 out of 250 on his CHL qualification with the Browning HP. He's currently looking for a CCW and is leaning toward a Taurus PT740 or 709 I think.

mine did same thing I used a thin artist brush and some white acrylic paint looks like new
