Default Nube sd40ve owner w/ sight questions

I have a new sd40ve that I purchased solely for SD. I now realize that my most likely need to use it will be in a dark house at night. The standard sights are white dots and I am wondering how effective they will be in a dark environment. So, I have decided to add a Nebo 5569 ProTec Elite HP190 Firearm Light....... but I am now wondering if that will be sufficient. Do I also need night sights, front and rear......or will just the front sight be enough?Amazon.com: Nebo 5569 ProTec Elite HP190 High-Powered Firearm Light: Home Improvement@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41PCoz3tnCL.@@AMEPARAM@@41PCoz3tnCL

Depends on what you like and whatever makes you sleep better at night. Its your home, protect it how you want. For some a good weapon light will do, for others night sights will do and for others they want the weapon light, night sights and a torchn cant go wrong with what ever you choose.

You don't need night sight if you have a light in fact while the light is on even with night sights you just get a silhouette of the sights. However Night sites wont run out, they have a half life of 12 years so in the occasion that you don't have the light or batteries die you can still see your sights in pitch black rooms.

Night sights also help for those times when you don't need a light to see the target but cant see your sights clearly. such as indoor shooting ranges and low light conditions. as soon as the light gets low the tritium in night sights becomes very useful

I use nights sights and red dot laser.
Laser does not work quite as we'll as I hope but it will give me 7in group at ten yards. Plus needs to be re calibrated after range time. Long story short works for me

Edit: I got rid of red dot laser and replaced it with the Streamlight TLR-4. much happier the laser is more sturdy after 50 rounds no readjustment needed and the light is a nice touch.
