Default Sigma 9ve loose front sight

I've read about this before, but now mine is a little loose. I have a set of sights off of a glock 17 that i think would work, but i was just wondering if there was anyway to tighten my sigma sight back down. I was wondering if i could apply alittle heat to the bottom of it or something? maybe with a soldering iron? any thoughts?

If the sight isn't too loose, I've heard of people using Red Locktite under the base of the sight and then applying drops around it. Allow for the time recommended before shooting the gun.

Thanks for the reply I wonder how well the loctite would work on this. I've never used loctite on anything plastic like this - so anyone have any input on my heat idea?

I would try the soldering iron.

You could also take a zip tie and plastic weld it tighter with a soldering iron.

Called plastic welding.

If the plastic welding doesn't work, The Glock 17 after market front sight should work with a small amount of filing. I have a sigma 9f with a Hi-Viz glock standard front optical sight on, it only required a little fitting. If you are talking about a stock Glock 17 sight then the plastic base on it is already broken and you will have the same problem as the SD. The after market sights use a screw to hold on the new sights and they tell you to use Blue locktight to hold it on.

I use nail polish since it is a good threadlocker that's only about 99 cents and will hold tight unless you really torque it on purpose;it wont chip the helix or slowly deform it. Also nail polish doesn't dry but cures when exposed to moisture so it hardens well sealed in the (what should be) thread tap air vacuum. It's basically Super Glue but more forgiving than both SG and Loctite. IMHO at least. Bleh.

Oh and small strips of fiberglass tape reinforced with small amounts of binary epoxy gives stuff tensile strength from hell.
