APEX SD spring kit striker block spring?
Does the replacement striker block spring Apex sends have any influence on the trigger pull? I can't see how the striker block spring would impact trigger pull pounds, but then I'm a 2nd generation S&W fan new to the striker-fired world of guns. The other 2 springs make sense, replacing the spring on the striker block is mystifying.

striker spring impacts the pull due to the striker only being 1/4 cocked when slide is racked, the trigger pulls the striker the rest of the way so a lighter spring reduces felt trigger wieght
when you dry fire, before you rack pull the trigger...theres barely any rension, thats the other springs included. now rack the slide, the stricker catches the lip on the sear at 1/4 of the way engaged, pull the magazine out and use a light and look at the sear/stricker finger as you pull slowly on the trigger and youll see that the striker spring is why there is much more tension when the slide is racked.

I'll be changing my SD9VE springs out when the kit arrives from Apex. Maybe I'll learn the dynamics when it's all sitting on the table in front of me. It's the striker block spring I was wondering about, not the striker spring.

you will not be dissapointed, i love mine after everything ive done to it. also you should try polishing the contacting points on the sear/trigger bar to smooth out any grittyness. that should start you off with a new outlook on your sd and only add to your experience

o sorry i misread that, i really dont have a clue but it was a easy spring to change. im guessing its easier for the trigger bar to force it up into its channel, lightening the load on the pull, but i think it would be a negligible difference

I've found the SD9VE to be a flawless performer, but the trigger is less than I expected. Not a fan of the stock trigger, even for a SD gun. When a trigger doesn't suit you the accuracy suffers. I consider the SR9 to be a SD gun and it has an excellent trigger. Apex seems to have the low price fix to the problem. We shall see.

i polished, did the spring kit, m&p poly aek, and used graphite powder on the striker and channeling. before all that my trigger was a gritty 9lbs 4oz after doing all of this it is down to a crisp 4lbs 12-14oz. its as nice as my sig p226 navys trigger now.

Appreciate the optimism. I really love the reliability of the pistol. I spent all day today trying to limp wrist it intentionally and couldn't do it. The gun runs like a Swiss watch. Grouping well and keeping double taps fairly close is another story.

The firing pin block spring affects the trigger pull because the trigger bar is what pushes that out of the way allowing the firing pin/striker to pass and hit the primer. The stronger the spring is on that block the more it will affect the trigger pull. Hope this helps
