Wink SD40VE

Howdy ya'll. New to the forum and glad to be here. I have an SD40VE and it is my EDC firearm. Great pistol for the price. (Pistol, Uncle Mike's Reflex holster and 100 rds. ammo for $300 out the door). I haven't had any issues with it and I don't even mind the heavy trigger pull. I also have a Bersa Thunder .380 for CC.

My SD40VE has been super. No failure to fire and the only misfeeds I've ever had were caused by my own improper handling. I took an enhance concealed carry class recently and was surprised at the number of issues other attendees had with their weapons while mine performed flawlessly. Of course, it helps if you actually maintain your gun. :-)

SW9 and sw40 here. The 40 is my lighted hd unit and the 9 is my plinker and soon to be carry gun.I dig both of `em.couple thousand rds.through the 40 and no problems at all.I like the 9 way better than my 1911.

I picked up my SD40 a few months ago and I am pretty happy with it. It has shot everything I put in it without any problems.

After a long wait, I pick up my California SD9VE next week. Yeah the extra "features" are superfluous but I've been eager to get this gun since it was announced.

As of 3-08-14 we have reached 100 votes! Great job guys!

I still think there are tons of sigma owners out there that might not visit the forum much anymore, I hope they come back!

I say we have a great gun and a great group of owners!

Let's get the "old sigma club" rocking again!

I'm going to encourage membership wherever I can. A few years ago, we had allot more participation in this section, before the SD came out.

I spewed coffee through my nose when I read this, thought you were saying there was more participation in the SD forum before the SD came out!

No, not at all. This section was called the Sigma section, then it became the Sigma/SD section, and now the SD/Sigma section.

What I was saying, back when this was the sigma section (pre SD) we had allot of participation, we unofficially called it "the sigma club". This is why I know we have a boatload of sigma owners that are members of this forum, probably far more than SD owners.

I was just hoping that the old "sigma club" members would return.

Hope this clarifies.

I've had my SD9ve about 2 years now got it just before the gun buying panic set in heavy. Stopped counting rounds at 2500 about double that now. Shoots any thing I put in it. feels great in my hand, the trigger was heavy at first but now I really like it for self defense. IMO the very best $300 you could ever spend on a pistol.

Just got my CA SD9VE yesterday, with all of its LCI glory!

Actually the LCI doesn't bother me one bit. I've owned the Sigma 9VE AF. The trigger on the SD9VE is like butter compared to that one.

Looking forward to taking it to the range next week.

Cheers.

I have a SW357V that was brand new in the box. I paid way too much for but that is what I wanted so I bought it. Then sold my Glock bc I like SW better.

Traded into a 40F many years ago and never had a problem with it. When the VE came out I liked it even better and ended up with 4 or 5 each,.....both 9VE and 40VE. Now I like the SD but have only picked up a couple,..........one SD9 and one SD9VE. When my sister moved away and needed something for the new house she got my SD9VE. I'll get another, but maybe the SD40 has moved to the top of the want list. Just got a deal on a bunch of SD40 magazines so I know one is coming soon.

I've got several Glocks but I doubt I'll ever shoot one of them again. Hate the Glock grips and I can think of several other points where the Sigma/SD has them beat.

You can check both of them, the poll is designed to do that.

Default Duty gun

For my part time municipal gig, I carry an Allied SW40VE with trigger spring upgrade and polished sear.

Maybe select by whichever the frame is? I've never been able to get the mix-and-match to work. The .40 magazine is too wide to fit the 9mm frame and the 9mm magazine is too slim to properly latch in the .40 frame. IIRC, the slide and barrel assemblies swapped out OK. I 'thought' I had some nice two caliber packages but it turned out that I just had a lot of spare parts.

SW9VE here. Can't really remember how long ago I bought it new. Did the Apex upgrades and some polishing along with a new guide rod with reduced power spring. Carry it just about everyday with 16 & 1 in the gun and 2 extra 16 round mags. I'd never consider giving it up.

Sold off the 10-round. Guess I'll have to stay out of certain states now.

Removed the 'extra' spring and now the trigger is awesome. Reset is a bit harsh but manageable. So tempted to pick up a second slide and barrel and get it ported and relieved.

No prob, I am a new SD9ve owner too and am waiting for our local range to get finished so I can get some quality time with it. Been doing a lot of dryfiring with snap caps to try to get everything ready for the first range trip. According to other owners, it is a fantastic gun for the price.

sd9ve owner here.... hands down the best semi auto i have ever owned. i only shoot my hand loads out of it, the trigger smoothed out around 500 rounds, kept it stock till around 1700 rounds then upgraded springs and trigger... at 2300 rounds now.
..... and never had a FTF or Jam... for 325 bucks. CANT BE BEAT!

Many thanks! Put 200 rounds thru it this afternoon. Really like that 16+1 setup. The trigger IS a tad long, and the amount of pressure it requires is more than the shield...but for $289 at academy, I cant complain too much...lol...it does kick some brass in my direction too...one hit me on the forehead...and it's loud...ear plugs are a joke....

Default Sigma 357

I own and early Sigma 40F purchased 1 month after release in 94, (had two but one was purchased for the "X"), a Sigma 357, a early Used 9C bought for $200 (could not pass up) and a 9VE still new in box that I bought on a whim while I had my FFL.

A side note the 9C was being cleaned after a range trip and after removing the Guide rod assembly, I set it on the table and it went ping. Weird! Now I have a non captured assembly. Oh well parts on the way from the mother ship!

Regards

Mike C

I've got the sw40ve and love it! Can't go wrong with a reliable S&W for a great price! Although I might be trading it for the right offer

Hi folks, I'm new here, but I have a question. I bought a sd9ve about a year ago and it consistently shoots low. I have had 4 or 5 other people shoot it and they all say it shoots extremely low. Has anyone else had this issue?

All help and advice is appreciated
