Default Apex polymer trigger problems SD9VE

I put their spring kit in last week and it was awesome! So I decided to buy the actual trigger and put it in today. At first, it wouldnt fire at all. so I sanded down on the back of the trigger, I dont want to take away too much so I quit. It will fire now, only if I pull the trigger fast. If I go slow, sometimes it wont and sometimes it will but after about 1 second of having the trigger fully pulled back.

Now, if I put my thumb on the slide lock lever and use my fingers to squeeze the frame where it says "Caution: Capable" it works like a charm everytime, slow and fast.... as long as Im squeezing the slide.

Anyone have a fix for this?

I've read somewhere before that sometimes you will have to file the trigger down to make it work. You may have to take more off. Is the trigger touching anywhere?

The only time it touches the frame is when its fully pulled back. Ive taken it out for now, and put the stock back in so that I can have my SD for home defense until I hear from apex.

I think a little more may need to be filed off. I'm not a gunsmith so I may be wrong. I called a friend and his apex trigger on a M&P9c doesn't touch

File more off. I had the exact same thing happen to me.
I literally had to file mine 5-6 times to get it right.
I would rather file a little at a time than too much.
Here's a quick tip, use the punch through the sear block to check it.
It doesn't make sense to keep pushing that pin in and out. The correct punch (1/8th) holds the sear just fine to check the trigger.
Make sure you're rounding off the sanding as well.
I had the exact same thing happen. Quick pull...it would go off.
If I just squeezed slowly...it wouldn't.
File off more, a little at a time until it clicks every time.
Since then, I've put 500 plus rounds down range, it went bang every single time.

I believe I got it. From the pictures, it didnt look like much had to be shaved off at all but I feel like I shaved off A LOT but maybe not. I dry fired it about 20 times and it worked everytime. I still want to run a few hundred rounds through it before i carry it.

Thanks tho guys!

Here is a link to my experience.

SD40VE Upgrades

I have since ran only about a box of ammo thru it. No problems with light strikes as of yet. I also ordered and installed the 22lb. recoil spring assy from Galloway Precision.
Got it here because the shipping is less.

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rods for Smith & Wesson Sigma/SD-VE pistols by Galloway Precision

I hope to fire it with the new spring this week. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Good luck to you.

I wanted to do the same thing to my trigger, but this the third or forth time I have read about this issue so I think ill wait a while. I did install the apex spring kit last night; I really can feel the difference...very smooth without that gritty feel.
