So I have the Sigma 9mm SW9VE. I have taken off the sights to polish the slide which looks great. Now I am going to put on the sights, but I was thinking I should upgrade them as well. I have found Trijicon SA21 sights for about $140 and Meprolight for around $80.

What is your opinion? Is Trijicon worth the additional $60? Or, is there a better option? I don't really NEED night sights and I honestly don't know that I will ever use them because this is not a gun I carry.

I know I can use any G19 front sight and file it down to fit the opening. What about the rear? Any options there?

You have pretty much covered the possibilities. Not a lot of choice for the Sigma. One of the attractions of the SD is the use of M&P sights.

I left my Sigma sights stock.

I would love to put some night sights on my SD9VE, but I think they are generally overpriced. My logic is, why spend nearly half the cost of the pistol for a couple of pieces of metal/plastic....
