Default Seems strange to me

When we picked up are SD9VE back in January the two 16 round mags that came with it have the holes in the side to see how many rounds are in it the numbers start a 5 and go to 15 and the last round is a pain to get in even with a loader.
The extra mags I ordered came in the mail today and the numbers start at 6 and go to 16 there in S&W packaging and the SKU# 199250 is the same as on the S&W site.
Haven't loaded up the new mags yet to see if the last round goes in any easier.

Has anybody else noticed this is this normal?

On my SD9VE, the "witness hole" numbers are even on one side of the magazine and odd on the other.

I just noticed the same thing. If I just would have looked on the other side of the mag.

First, welcome to the forum. Second, I had to laugh a bit, because this is the kind of thing I can see myself doing.

Hey, it could have been worse...you could have had one mag showing the odd side, and one mag showing the even side, and then you'd have been really confused!
