ALG Defense has just released a new mount for a reddot sight, I have a fleeting idea that this may work on one of my SD9VE's.
What do you guys think?

I think you should call and ask them. There might be enough difference thay this mount won't fit or won't work properly

Looks pretty complicated and the pictures seem to show it has to attach at one point through the trigger pin.

I like the notion of the red laser pointers mounted on the bottom rail but the ones I have tried are not very stable, I think partly due to instability of the plastic rail. If anyone has found a stable pointer I'm open for another test.

Well, maybe I'm being too strict. The pointers I have tried have drifted only 6-8" at 20'. That's good enough for me.

I have to wonder about the rationale for putting a $250 part on a $250 gun. I also believe that the trigger pin will wind up bein both too wide and too large in diameter. I think there is also a different measurement from the trigger pin to the top of the slide. I'm just looking at a Glock 19, though and I have no way to measure it till I get home in the morning.

I'm confused here. I thought this was about the Smith & Wesson SD9/40 & SW9/40 series of pistols. Not some laser beam, red dot, bayonet tipped space gun page? These pistols are for self defense and protection. I don't think they were intended as comp guns...just sayin'

According to the link it was originally designed for police/spec ops linier entry teams (airliners, buses). Which makes sense.

I can see some folks wanting a similar set up for a dedicated home defense gun; but for general carry no.

That cost more than my lasergrip. Where is the dislike button? Gee, now that I looked at it again, that lilac color could go with my gray SW40.
