SD9VE sights
Has anybody changed out there original sights for aftermarket ones?
Is there a direct fit or do you have to modify in order to fit properly?
Thanks
Papa

Aftermarket sights for the full-size M&P pistols work on the SD.

I have the Ameriglo Pro IDOT aftermarket sights on my SD9. Don't know the technical term but they only have the one dot on the rear sight with a curved notch. I like them a lot because it's easy to see and sight up wether I'm wearing my glasses or not.

Mine has Truglo Fiber Optic sights (not the tritium variety -- gun will never be used at night). I spent $49 at Amazon for them. They fit perfectly and are a damn sight (I had to say that) better than the originals. My other guns have Trijicons on them. They work perfectly. In bright daylight, the SD's sights are better than the $160 trijicons in my opinion. Of course, the fiber optics would be useless at night. Excuse the iPad camera, please.

I used a hi-viz m&p front fibre optic sight on my sd9. Took a little gunsmithing, as the tolerances were a bit tight. Could have been the cerakoting on my firearm, but the original sight went straight back on with no problem after it was originally coated.
So I'm going with the sight being of really tight tolerances.
