Default SW9F rail adapter

I have an SW9F (4.5" barrel) circa 1996 and would like to add a laser or other accessories; however, I cannot find an adapter that I can attach to this handgun. The gun does not have a "rail" per se; however, I purchased the ProMag "S&W Sigma Rail Adapter PM261" hoping that I could attach it in the bottom of the barrel, but it does not attach. Does anyone know of anything available that I can use to attach accessories to my SW9F?

Update: I tried the ProMag PM261 "Sigma Rail Adapter"; however, that did not work. It is designed for an S&W with grooves at the bottom of the barrel. My SW9F does not have any grooves.

Sir,
I think your best option is to buy a section of picatinny rail and mount it under the dust cover with rivets or VHB tape.

Of course you could just buy an SD9VE for $300 and call it good. You can even use your existing magazines in the SD9VE.

I'll give that approach a good "college try" and will post back to let you guys know how that works for me.
