Default SD40VE apex trigger spring problem

I have a sd40ve fairly new and decided to make the trigger better. After installing the apex spring kit it doesn't fire all the time. It seems like it is too light to activate the hinged safety trigger. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and what I can do to fix it other than buying a new trigger.

Please clarify. Is the striker being released and no fire or no striker release?

Why I left mine stock. Just my luck, that's what would happen. After 1,500 rounds or so, I'm used to it.

No striker, like you're pulling the trigger without activating the bottom half.
And I usually leave them stock but I couldn't break the low left shooting.

First of all, IGNORE THE GUYS WHO REPLY WITH SARCASTIC COMMENTS.

I would take gun apart and reinstall, or at the least take slide off and see if something is binding in there.

Watch video again if needed, I know the striker spring I received from this comp. gave me problems.

Good Luck, 3

Hi, Dave.

I have the 40 with the Apex spring also and it made a very good gun even better.

3Hounds is right.

Go ahead and do the install again. In particular, the trigger pin. Check out the trouble shoot video as well just in case you have the trigger bar in out of place. Have the video going while you do it.

If you still have trouble, let me know. I have installed 4 of the kits in mine and a couple buddys' including a couple of the blade trigger replacements and all are performing wonderfully.

Installed mine today and went the range. The pistol would fire, but the trigger would not re-set, and occasionally would lock open.

Same deal dmerril.

Uninstall and install the parts again, paying close attention to both videos.

Something was put in out of place.

The kit performs wonderfully when everything is assembled properly.
