I have read here and elsewhere that any of the sights for the M&P series will fit the SD9VE.

SD & M&P sights are SD9VE sights. My SD9 has 10-8 Performance rears and Ameriglo ProGlo front (both designed for M&P). My former SD9VE's all had TruGlo TFO's (designed for the M&P) and my soon to be new SD9VE will have Warren Tactical 2 dot tritium night sights (made for the M&P) because I have a set sitting in my parts bin. My MGW sight pushed for the M&P also fits the SD9 / SD9VE like it was made for it.

I have a set of these on an M&P 9C and really like 'em. Less than $60 and you get the benefit of fiber optic during the day and tritium at night, plus a nicely serrated plain rear to keep your eyes focused where they should be. Since they are on sale I might have to buy a set just to keep around.

I replaced the rear sight on mine with an OEM M&P sight from Midway. It looked the same but was made of metal rather than plastic. I seem to shoot better with it but it's probably in my head. You have to order the screw separately for just a little more money. It was a very easy change.

The stock SD sights are adequate but you often can find other sights that you like more. I am not real big on "night sights" -- if it is too dark to see the sights, I probably can't see well enough to identify the target beyond a doubt.

The sights mentioned above are good choices. I installed a M&P OEM rear sight on the SD9VE slide and a Novak fiber optic front sight, but it worked loose -- so I re-installed the white dot sight. The older SD9 has a Warren Tactical rear sight (all black) and a Hi-Viz fiber optic front sight.

There are lots of combinations and none are wrong, if they work for the shooter; you may find yourself trying different sights and changing them a couple of times until you are happy with what you have...

I agree with the recommendation to use the MGW (Maryland Gun Works) sight pusher for all installation and adjustment jobs. It is much better than using a punch or a block of wood... well worth the money.
