I'm thinking about removing the rear sight and putting on a red dot sight. From what I can see it seems you zero the red dot in much like a scope on a rifle. It's mainly a range gun and ccw sometimes /bedside gun. Would you recommend switching to the red dot or stay with stock sights and why? Do you recommend a particular brand that is less than $100 ? Thanks Anthony

I'm sure I am in the minority but I just don't grasp all the interest in exotic sights which appear to require complex mounting systems, and surely complicate use of holsters for the folks who carry.

For general range use I get along fine with stock sights on a pistol. For me the challenge at the range is to see just how well I can do with "standard" sights.

For self defense I feel that the danger is going to be close enough that you could almost do without sights.

I have added a low cost under-barrel red laser pointer which seems to work well and it fits nicely in my stock holster.

What am I missing?

Being a ccw/bedside gun, my thoughts are that bad things happen mostly at night, especially home invasions. If you are going to change sights you might consider some type of night sights.

Thank you, does anyone have this sight installed and do you like it, advantages or disadvantages?
