Have I SW357 Sigma I got when my dad passed away. Hardly shot, likely never holstered. Don't have pics handy, and this photobucket fiasco has me puzzled. Anyway, I do not see recent sales of them on gunbroker or guns America. Can you give me an idea of value.

Thanks.

Tough one. Sigmas sold under $300; very few SW357s were made.
Around here, used SW9 is maybe $150 and no collector interest.
No idea what interest you can turn up in NY for the SW357???

Around here a good condition Sigma in 9mm or 40 will be priced at $250 or a little higher. The 357Sig is rarely seen but I would expect it to be priced a little higher. I know that takes it into the price range of a new SD series at Academy, but it seems to be where the market is. At least it is around here.

In my area neither the Sigma or .357 Sig are popular. $200.00 might be top dollar here. I personally like the .357 Sig cartridge and own three handguns chambered for it. I would suggest you keep it.

I'd swap it for a 3913. Of course you will have to shell out a few bucks in the trade. LOL

Less than 1500 were manufactured, the exact number is unknown

Smith and Wesson did not heavily push the 357SIG cartridge, after all it was in competition with the 40S&W for market share

I am a huge fan of the 357SIG cartridge and have 3 SIGMA SW357Vs among my 357SIGs at the moment

SIGMAs, in general, are not well liked in many circles and do not have great resale value. There are what they are. good and reliable duty guns. They are not plinkers or target pistols and can not be modified into such

Yours is a shooter, not a pistol in collectible condition. It will probably bring a premium over other calibers to a fan of the 357SIG, but probably nor more than 20% or so.

I would think it would bring $350+ without too much trouble.

BTW, street price on SIGMAs (with two 15 round magazines) when they were released just prior to the 1994 Crime and Control Bill (AWB) was over $600.

Tough question. :o Right now today (post-rebate program price), brand new in box w/warranty SDVE's around here are selling for $259.95 less 2% if you've got cash. One or two dealers in my area might even be a little lower. That sort of sets the baseline for any used SW Sigmas. :( And these guns are generally in greater demand than average in loony moonbat MA due to the whole stupid "pre-ban" magazine thing wherein a Sigma/SD variant is the only plastic, striker-fired S&W pistol for which legal "pre-ban" hi-cap magazines are available.

That said, the SW357 is still something of a rarity and might have some poor man collector interest in top condition with box and original pre-ban magazines. Unfortunately, it is very hard to gauge what added return that rarity might bring. :o We occasionally see a Sigma sitting in a shop here or there but they sure as heck aren't moving fast. One I'm aware of in brand new condition w/box hasn't moved in more than 3-1/2 years.

Unless you can strike pay dirt with the right poor man S&W collector on GB, I'm thinking that gun won't ever move for over $299. :o That's kind of sad but folks who want a 357 Sig pistol have much better options. :(
