Are there any red dot sights that work for SD40VE??

You need to research two things, the sight and the mount for your slide. Of course they both must be compatible. For a base start with Weigand, their site will give an email address and phone number. Also check out Raptor at sales.raptor-eng.com. Their web site will also provide good info, just go to Raptor Red Dot Bases. As for sights, Holosun has a good variety, Vortex has an excellent assortment and there are several other brands available. Just check out their web sites. Most companies that make rifle scopes will also offer red/green dot sights. You have to decide what quality you want and what you're willing to pay. Check out Midway USA, they offer several brands as well as Brownells. Any of the larger box stores like Sportsmen's Warehouse and Bass Pro Shop/Cabelas have an assortment of red or green reticle sights. Get on the computer and let your fingers do the walking!

I think all the SD models have a dovetail mount that takes a M&P rear site, anything that fits a M&P will fit the SD I believe. I have a red dot on my SD9VE , love it. The first one (ADE) I bought only lasted 2 sessions at the range (you get what you pay for). The one I have now has a lifetime warranty and I am very happy with it , Vortex Optics Viper Red Dot Sight - 6 MOA Dot . I used the adapter from the first red dot and that worked fine.
Replacement front and rear sights forSD40VE
My son's SD 40 VE would benefit from a lower front sight or a higher rear sight to raise the point of impact about 4-6 inches from 7 yards. Best I can tell the stock front sight is 0.129 inch above the slide. In previous posts in the forum there was discussion I did not relate to this pistol which fits in a dovetail without holes. Is it a standard dovetai? Also would like to keep the white dots on the front or rear. Suggestions much appreciated. Thank You.

That looks like the adapter plate mounted on rear sight dovetail cuts. Have you had problems with plate coming loose or the screws?

Yes, all M&P sights will fit the SD/SDVE series guns.
