Holster for SD9VE
I've been looking for a new IWB holster for my SD9VE and seen several that I like online but they specify they are for a S&W M&P Shield 9mm. Will my SD9VE fit in a holster that says it's for a M&P Shield 9mm?

In general, no. The SIGMA series pistols are blocky as opposed to the Shield, tapered and short. I have a FOBUS holster marked HK-1 that fits the 9VE. The 9VE is far too large for my Safariland 567BL-1-2-150-175 that fits the Shield.
It is possible you might find something with enough adjustment, but I don't know what it would be. The nylon "sock" holsters that fit everything poorly are not suitable for EDC, IMHO.

I packed a VE Sigma for many years in holsters designed for other guns, just because there wasn't a good selection of holsters for it.
I have found that for most leather. If it fits a Glock 17/22, you can wet mould it to fit the Smith. Some Kydex holsters that fit the Glock 20/21 would fit the Smith as well.

I've been using a CYA IWB holster specifically made for the SD9VE. No complaints here at all.
Sent with some arcane communications device.

I have found and use a few of the cheaper kydex ones found online with some success. I have gone so far as to change-out the belt-clip to loops on the holsters. No complaints.

I know of some shooters that used a Glock 19 holster successfully.

Take a look at HAWG Holsters, I like mine a lot. I have a Shield 9mm EZ. Had it sent to me in less than a week.

For an IWB I like the Galco Triton TR472. It's made for the full size M&P's but it is an excellent fit for the SD9VE/SD40VE.

I used to have an SD9 and found anything for a Glock 19 fit fine. At least leather ones. I never tried anything Kydex.

Depends. My Desantis hybrid works for both M&P Double Stack and the SD9/SD40 current generation (2012 & newer?)
My On Your 6 Designs and Neptune Concealments are molded specifically to the SD series.

Picked up a SD9 FDE This afternoon & went to my Holster Box looking for a holster..
No Glock Holster will work, Won't even go in at all = Galco & Fobus
I have several Hk USP Compact Holsters that do fit the SD9
Perfect Fit was a Gould & Goodrich for a Full Size Hk USP
Photo to come, I don't care for a thumb snap holster but it fits perfectly
I have a SIG-Tac Paddle holster somewhere for a Hk I will have to try as well

Just for grins and giggles I bought an SD9VE a few weeks ago. Then I decided to get a holster for it. I got a "We the People" IWB Kydex one. Gun seems to fit well. I don't think I've actually used it yet (I've got a couple other "carry" guns) but I think it will serve well, and was reasonably inexpensive. Will keep you posted.

I have a HK-2 Holster By Cy-Tac which I think it's made by Fobus being it says Made in Israel on the package & it will not fit the SD9, It has a button release.
It's for a Hk USP Compact 9/40, The Hk-1 Fits the Full Size Hk USP
I am going to go get the holster box & the SD9 & see what I can come up with, I'm Looking for Leather

In my experience, the Sigma, SD and M&P holsters are pretty much interchangeable. Maybe not a perfect fit, but close enough to work well.

Hidden Hybrid Holsters makes some of the best holsters on the market. Leather suede interior is super comfortable with nice thick kydex exteriors. They use Amish made leather and the kydex is form fitted to each individual pistol. The quality is unlike anything you've probably ever owned.

I’ve used the kydex from We The People for the past couple of years with no problem on the fit. I have the extended take-down bar and it just adds a little extra drag for unholstering.
