I'm interested in one. Looks like the new M&P 2.0 triggers. Not much out there from reviewers though. Frame appears same. Should have a street price of $329 and sale price of about $299.

I'm a little disappointed that they aren't offering it in .40 S&W despite the fact that they're still producing the SD40 1.0, but then again I suppose that an SD40 2.0 would be a tough sale at $350 MSRP when there are so many used, like new .40cal pistols on the market at a similar price point.

Heck, I picked up an M&P40c for $269 back in June.

Anybody shot one yet? Does the trigger have a cleaner break, or os it just a cosmetic tweak To the blade?

I picked mine up today, and while the trigger is much better, I'd still call it "Glockesque". It's what you'd expect for the price, and perfectly adequate for what it's designed. Hopefully Apex will address the matter in the future.

I am very interested to feel the difference between the Apex trigger and spring kit compared to the new 2.0 trigger. I'm definitely not looking to buy a 2.0. I am very impressed with my current SD9 and the Apex trigger/spring kit. To be honest I really didn't mind the trigger that came with my SD9. But I'm very happy S&W upgraded the SD series. I'm a Glock guy through and through but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the SD guns. S&W had a very rough time after the polymer striker fired guns came out. They went through the S&W 99 and Sigma series guns before they finally came out with the M&P. I'm glad they stuck with the Sigma improvements. Now they have an excellent no frills gun that folks can afford but still be well armed.

I put the Apex trigger kit in my SD9. Pull went from eight down to about six. My trigger was quite smooth out of the box so no change there. I consider it money well spent. The SD fits my hand well and points instinctively for me.

I’m interested in these as well. I have the SD9VE, SD40VE, and SW9VE and I like the look of the new slide, I’m betting the trigger is way better.

All mine have apex spring kits in them with factory triggers. The SW9VE is still very stiff even with the apex springs. I heard they have two spring in the Sears housing block has 2 springs inside, and if you use a MCARBO spring for that it helps more, or some people say you can remove one of the two springs in there and it’s fine, but I’m not comfortable doing that.

I don't see myself getting one, I'm good on Sigmas at the moment.

Miami, nice collection. I’m after an SF9F still. Is it true the polymer was not as good on those? Do they have issue with droop or anything? I’d probably not shoot mine more than a few hundred rounds a year…

I'm rather surprised at how much I like this SD9 2.0. And it's made in Tennessee to boot!

I've only got a few hundred rounds through it so far, so I'm still getting used to it and getting everything broken in and running smoothly.

My only real beef with it thus far is the somewhat vague trigger reset; I think I've gotten used to a much more audible "click" with some other pistols. The problem is reminiscent of the early M&P 1.0—which, in fairness, did resolve itself after a few thousand rounds. As the SD has broken in the reset is getting a bit more perceptible (and I'm probably getting better at "reading" it). Otherwise the SD 2.0 performs just as well as my Glocks and other polymer pistols at the sub-$600 price point.

(and I acknowledge that there are different schools of thought on whether the trigger reset is important or not ... so the importance of this could be debated.)

The M&P Competitor has a superior trigger in just about every way (and probably the best out-of-the-box M&P trigger I've run to date), but it's also a magnitude more expensive and should have a better trigger. So no surprise there.

I'm a "simple iron sights" kind of guy and appreciate the un-fussy three white dots. I have no problem getting a good sight picture. Others, I imagine, will opt for the exotics. I don't know (and don't care) if the SD could be fitted with optics, but if it can't I imagine that's a function of keeping the price down.

Whatever the grip angle is works well for me. Magazine release is not fussy and positioned well, and the magazines drop freely as I'd expect.

A small bone of contention I have is that the magazines are proprietary to this model. I've got several other M&Ps and an FPC carbine (which share magazines), but with the SD I'll need to keep yet another proprietary magazine around.

Takedown is Glock-ish, not surprisingly, and detail stripping seems to be straightforward. I don't know how vigorous the aftermarket is for these, but I don't generally load my guns up with aftermarket stuff so it's neither here nor there for me.

In terms of accuracy: I'm pretty sure this pistol is more accurate than the guy holding it. The barrel lockup seems tight and if I throw a shot, I can usually self-diagnose something that I did wrong.

Yeah, I don't like it either that this series' mags aren't compatible with M&P mags. But at least SD9 2.0 mags work with previous 3 variants I already have because I've accumulated a lot of mags for them. Might pick one up at some point, thanks for the feedback.

What's weird about the Sigma Series is that while it apparently can't take M&P Magazines, M&P Compacts can take Sigma Magazines...



That's an SW40VE Magazine in my M&P40 Compact 1.0. It fits and functions, with the only thing being that it fits in a bit snug, so magazines don't drop free.

I'm going to have to pick one up as I have lotsa SW9VE mags kicking around. That and I just need a new plaything to cerakote LOL!

I've had mine to the range a couple of times but can't seem to hit squat with it. I did put a set of Tru-Glo f/o sights on it and it seems to shoot low, at least for me. My buddy shoots it just fine, so perhaps it's just me not digging the trigger and all. Oh well.....
