SD9 2.0 problem
Hey everybody so I just bought my first pistol. Brand new SD9 2.0 from academy sports and I put exactly 50 rounds through it and I’m already having problems. As I opened the case the trigger pin was somehow just sticking out over halfway and I might’ve made an idiot move but I pulled it out and put it back in the opposite way that it came out. (Came out through the left of your aiming down sights. Put it in through the right the same way it came out. Notches on the left) and after I got it in now the trigger still feels ****** up and the safety won’t disengage. I stuck a flathead through the slit to jump the slide and it worked but it still won’t disengage. I’m also having troubles taking it apart thinking maybe that’s the issue but it won’t come apart but that could just be that I’ve never taken apart a gun before. All the guns I’ve had and shot have been my parents and grandparents. They do all the cleaning so I have no experience and they don’t know what’s going on. Any tips or should I just take it to the store to send to S&W? The guy at the counter had no clue on the issue either. Thanks

I'd contact S&W customer service for a shipping label, and send it back to them for warranty service.

Yeah, you can't disassemble it without pulling the trigger first. The only safety it has is the trigger safety. If the safety won't disengage, you can't pull the trigger. Kind of between a rock and a hard place. Send it to S&W or take it to a gunsmith.

Unless your familiar with these pistols send it in to S&W. Best way to reinstall that pin is using a slave pin with trigger spring. The slide stop and spring have to be aligned and in the right place. Just send it in to smith & wesson they will send you a slip to ship.

I had the exact same issue. SD9 2.0, fresh out of the box. Fired around 20 rounds and noticed the trigger pin was hanging far out to one side. I then pulled the pin out but couldn't get it to go back in.
At this point, I could pull the slide back but could not get the slide to come forward and off (field stripping). After trying for awhile the slide eventually became completely stuck.
The trigger assembly feels very loose and I can move it around quite a bit.
