I was looking around and checking out the .40 Compact pistols. I am already getting the 9mm in an M&P Compact S&W. But the .40 I am torn between the H&K P2000 and the M&P compact. Anyone have any information on these or have one. I know the H&K is a lot more cost but is it really that much better for the extra amount of money? Also I have heard it is ammo picky and doesn't like steel or aluminum cased ammo, due to its tighter German engineering, is this true? Any replies would be appreciated! Thanks

No comparison, IMO. Apples and oranges at best. The only thing these two pistols have in common is that they have polymer frames.......and are handguns.

The HK is a superb pistol. Light weight, scary accurate, well made, and durable.

The M&P.........feels good in the hand. Regards 18DAI.

The P2000SK has a bigger slide, but the lip of the extended magazine floor plate tends to crowd my pinky. However, it has double-strike.

The MP holds two more shots in 9mm, and I think one more in .40.

I have a 2 USPc's in .40, and a M&Pc in 9mm.

The M&P has a smaller grip frame and is easier to conceal. I've found the HK to be totally reliable after thousands of rounds. I don't have that many through the M&P yet.

I think the HK is a well made gun, and trust it completely. But I prefer to carry the M&P. It fits my hand better, conceals better, and I like the trigger better than the LEM on the HK.
