SW1911 sub COMPACT PRO SERIES 45
Hi
Any one own one of these,If so any reliability issues.
Would like to get one but a but nervous about a small
1911 like that. I don't trust gun rag reviews I think they are all bias.Writers never talk down these guns in the reviews.
Trust forum members opinions much more.
thanks.

I've been waiting too
I handled one at the Shot Show last year and told my dealer to get one for me. Neither he nor any of his distributors have seen one yet. I have other SW1911s and have been extremely impressed but I'm getting real tired of waiting for S&W to actually sell what they have in their catalog and what has been on the cover of gun mags. I'm starting to carefully study competitor guns (Colt Defender, Para Slim Hawg). I would prefer to remain "loyal" to the brand but if S&W can't deliver, they may well lose a customer. If anyone from S&W does read these post, some assurances as to when these will arrive would be appreciated.

Perhaps thats why i've been having trouble finding any real reviews.I thought these were suppose to be out this summer. Maybe sw can't get them to work.
I watch Personal defense tv and tom gresham(host) has one.Seems like a decent gun for him on tv.It was probably given to him by SW to beta test.

I tried to get some info on this site myself and had one reply. I had one of the first 1911 S&W made it shot anything I put trough it but I did get a reliability package don on it. I was a little nervous about the extractor but not for any reason other than it was different than Colt. Workmanship seemed fine, but I traded in for a BHP and some extra cash, new owner likes it. Problem I have is what I really want and can't find is a Colt Commander chambered for 38 super and lose patience with S&W. If you get any other than G&A opinions pass on to me......Thanks .....GM

There was a front cover and article in American Handgunner several months ago. As you can expect, it was favorable. But still we wait............

To date I have not seen the S&W Sub-Compact 45. I frequently visit gun stores all over the country and not one carried it.

I emailed S&W, the response I got said they hope to have them on the market within the next couple of months. I'll cross my fingers but won't hold my breath.

I guess Smith doesn't care that they are losing out to Springfield EMP series....Got to wonder. Who owns Smith these days?
