Can a TDA be changed to SAO?
Was wondering if a 3rd Gen S&W can be changed from DA/SA to SAO? Find myself firing in SAO, didn't know if there was a way to eliminate the initial DA, or if I should just keep racking the slide.

I don't know if it can be converted to SAO, but you should not have to rack the slideto put it into SA mode, just pull the hammer back (assuming you don't have a 'bobbed' hammer) when you are ready to shoot.

Usually I only have to just release the slide on the first round or cock the hammer. Guess I missed typed when I said rack.

You could take out the sear trip lever. This would let the safety block the firing pin. The hammer would still fall if you pulled the trigger, though. This is the way the Model 52 is set up. It allows dryfire practice and was a simple change.
