Default 4566 TSW question

A question for the S & W semi-auto fans. I'm looking at a 4566 TSW with an apparently damaged accessory rail. The official parts list shows the rail and rivets as factory installed only. Has anyone done this, and at what cost for the work? While I'm asking, any thoughts about the gun too? Thanks.

Odds are very good that the factory will replace the rail for free. You might even get free return shipping as well. If it were mine, I would only send in the frame, to save on weight.

If you wish, the factory will remove the rail and fill the two holes with aluminum plugs, all for free. You will have to ship the frame to them. If you don't intend to use the rail, you might want to do this since it will be easier to fins a holster for it without the rail.

Or conversely, they will attach the rail at no charge. They just did that as well as a laundry list of other things AND shipped it back to me at no charge. I only had to pay shipping to get it to them.

Great gun. Bought one to carry in Narcotics but it WAS heavy... so I sold it and got a 4563 TSW. Perfect! Buy it and send it back for the work. You'll like it.
