Holster choices for Model 4566/4563 TSW.
I have a 4583 TSW, with accessory rail, made around 2002. Dimensionally it is the same as the 4566 TSW, except for the lack of decocker/safety lever. I want to carry it concealed, but holster options are limited because of the rail. I have considered removing the rail but would prefer not to. I would prefer an IWB holster if I can find a nice one.
All you 4566 TSW owners, who makes a OWB or IWB holster for your gun?

I recently purchased this Safariland set-up for my 4566TSW. The holster is a model 518 paddle holster. It does a pretty good supporting the considerable weight of the pistol.

I spoke with Andrew's Leather about a month ago and he said he could make an IWB for the 4566TSW I have. I was looking at their MacDaniel II holster, if you want to take a look: Andrews Custom Leather

Hello....I carried a 4563 with rail in a duty holster made for a sig 220. It is a Bianchi Grabber , a duty belt holster. For plain clothes, I have a desantis holster, again, made for the 220/226. They fit fine.

+1 on the Sig 220/226 holsters. They work great.
Of course, I removed that idiotic rail off my 4563's......well, all my TSW pistols. So, Safariland Glock 17 holsters worked also, for me. Regards 18DAI.

The 4563 TSW was my last duty gun on the LAPD. I worked Narcotics and the .45 was my daily carry gun, except for buys. It concealed well using a DeSantis rig with the 2 slots in front that allows either strong side or cross-draw. Excellent holster.

I tried a few times to post a photo with no luck. My 4566 sits in a Fist pancake holster. The thing is made so well that it will still be around long after I'm gone.
fist-inc.com
Pancakes, paddles, IWB, shoulder rigs, Fist makes them all for the 4566. About 6-12 weeks wait, but trust me, well worth it. And competitively priced.

Thanks for all the replies. I have ordered a Safariland 518 for my 4583 TSW from Optics Planet and should have it on Monday. Hopefully, my 4586 without the rail will fit this holster also.
I have changed my thinking about the rail. At first, I was determined to send the gun to S&W and have it removed. But now that I see some holster choices, I am going to leave it alone so as not to decrease the capability of the gun. I may want to put a flashlight on it one day.
The advantage of the S&W rail is that if you damage or mar the rail, it can be cheaply and easily replaced by the factory or a gunsmith with a swaging bar. But with the integral rail system (part of the frame), if you damage the rail you have damaged the frame.
The rail on my gun was used prior to my ownership, and some of the black finish is missing. But the frame is untouched.
As always, "your mileage may vary".
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Andy

Crossbreed Holsters also makes both IWB and OWB holsters that will fit the 4566 pistols with(TSW) or without rail. It's a little late now since you've ordered, but thought I'd mention it for the record.

Thanks, Keith. Not too late, because I may still get an IWB holster for it.

Hate to bring up an older thread, but on the search for a CrossBreed Holster for the 4566TSW, they do not make one for this model according to their website. Just states 5900 and 4000 series, including TSW, same situation as BlackHawk Serpa.
